Safety regulations and core taboos
Personnel and operational requirements
Qualification requirements: Installation, operation, and maintenance personnel must be professional electricians who comply with EN 50110-1/-2 (VDE 0105 part 100) standards;
Manual usage: The complete and latest manual must be used, and single page operations are prohibited (to avoid missing safety information);
Prohibited from use: Safety functions that cannot be used for personnel or equipment protection, can only be used for routine control and visualization.
Core security risks and preventive measures
table
Potential risk prevention measures
Explosion risk (explosive environment/lithium battery) is only used in non explosive environments or ATEX Zone 22; Improper disposal of lithium batteries is prohibited, and the equipment needs to be professionally recycled
Electric shock risk (opening cover): Do not open the cover by yourself, as it contains live parts inside
Static electricity damage (electronic components): Before touching the device, ground it to release static electricity; Avoid contact with sensitive components such as interface pins
Data loss (SD card/memory): Only power off and unplug the SD card; Reduce write operations (limited write cycles on storage media); Confirm no write operation before closing
Condensation short circuit (temperature fluctuation): Do not apply electricity during condensation; After the temperature changes, it needs to be allowed to stand at room temperature before starting
Touch screen damage (sharp objects) can only be operated with fingers or a dedicated stylus; Avoid corrosive cleaning agents
Stray current fire requires parallel laying of equipotential bonding conductors (with a cross-section of multiple shielding layers of the cable)
Environmental and installation restrictions
Avoid direct sunlight exposure (UV can cause plastic to become brittle);
Signal cables and power cables cannot be laid in the same slot and need to be wired separately;
The equipment needs to be installed inside a fire-resistant enclosure (UL certification requirements).

Installation process and specifications
Installation prerequisites
Installation location: inside the control cabinet/control panel, can be installed horizontally/vertically; The SD card slot cannot face downwards (to prevent the card from falling off);
Spacing requirements: ventilation gap ≥ 30mm, distance from heat sources (such as transformers) ≥ 15cm;
Installation surface requirements: XV-303 requires a 2-5mm thick panel, XV-313 requires a 1.5mm (A00 version) or 2mm (A11 version) thick panel, with a flatness of ≤ 0.5mm.
Cable and wiring specifications
Common requirements for cables: All interfaces require shielded cables, and the shielding layer should be connected to the connector housing with low impedance to ensure EMC compliance;
Interface – Specific Requirements:
Interface cable specifications, maximum length, terminal resistance
CAN characteristic impedance 120 Ω, capacitance<60pF/m 5000m (10 Kbit/s) 120 Ω (at both ends of the bus)
RS-485 characteristic impedance 120 Ω, loop resistance<110 Ω/km 1200m (9600 Kbit/s) 120 Ω (at both ends of the bus)
Ethernet shielded twisted pair (STP), CAT5e/6 100m none
RS-232 shielded cable 30m (9600 Kbit/s) None
Grounding specification: The cross-sectional area of the functional grounding wire should be ≥ 1.5mm ² and the length should be ≤ 350mm. It should be connected to the equipment grounding screw (tightening torque 1.3 Nm).
Equipment fixation and sealing
XV-303 (pre installation): Use 6/10/12 brackets (according to size) to fix from the back of the panel, with a tightening torque of ≤ 0.1 Nm for the brackets. Before installation, place a sealing strip in the equipment groove (with the joint facing downwards and no distortion) to ensure IP65 protection;
XV-313 (rear installation): Weld M4 × 12 bolts on the panel, fix the equipment with washers and nuts to ensure no gaps;
Power wiring: Use the matching MSTB 2.5-3-ST-5.08 plug, with a wire cross-section of 0.75-2.5mm ², a stripping length of 7mm, and a tightening torque of 0.6-0.8 Nm.
Operation and maintenance
Startup and shutdown
Startup process: Power off, insert SD card containing software → Connect 24 VDC power supply → Power on, automatic boot → Install GALILEO/PLC (XSoft CoDeSys 3) software → Complete system configuration;
Closing process: Confirm that there are no SD card write operations → Disconnect the power supply; No independent switch, avoid frequent switching (prolong backlight life).
routine maintenance
Touch screen maintenance: Clean with a clean, soft and damp cloth. For stubborn stains, spray a small amount of cleaning agent on the cloth (do not directly spray the device); When responding to anomalies, it is necessary to calibrate according to the Linux system manual;
Battery maintenance: The built-in lithium battery is maintenance free, with a lifespan of about 10 years, and cannot be replaced;
Maintenance restrictions: Equipment malfunctions can only be reported to the manufacturer or authorized center, and self opening repairs are prohibited.
Common troubleshooting
Possible causes and solutions for the fault phenomenon
The device cannot start without 24 VDC power supply/SD card not inserted Check power cable → Insert SD card with software → Confirm power supply voltage is between 18.0-31.2 VDC
Touch screen unresponsive, poor grounding/uncalibrated/disabled. Check function grounding (cross-section ≥ 1.5mm ², length ≤ 350mm) → recalibrate → enable touch screen function
Display black screen backlight disabled/backlight failure. Turn on backlight in visualization software → Contact for repair
Abnormal data transmission, unshielded cable/missing terminal resistor. Replace shielded cable → Add 120 Ω terminal resistors at both ends of CAN/RS-485 bus
