KONGSBERG K-Nav Navigation Product Series

KONGSBERG’s K-Nav navigation product line for the SOLAS market includes core products such as K-Nav Radar, ECDIS, Planning Station, Conning, Autopilot, and Kongsberg VDR. It supports key functions such as radar signal network distribution, multi radar synthesized images (up to 4), and target tracking (up to 100), with standardized sensor interfaces, modular open architecture, and 24/7 global support. It can meet mandatory requirements such as IMO and IHO, provide full lifecycle services and training, and adapt to decision support needs in professional navigation scenarios.

Core Technology and System Characteristics

Signal Processing and Distribution

Radar signal: The analog signal is converted into a digital signal at the antenna position through the radar interface (RIN) unit, and distributed to the display unit through a high-speed network

Local processing: Video processing (including target tracking) and filtering are both completed locally on the display unit, and the operator can fully control the display screen

Interface and Configuration

Sensor interface: Adopting a traditional serial connection scheme, each sensor corresponds to a dedicated port for the operation station, and standardized settings ensure efficient configuration and installation

Network features: Supports different display units to access radar data from any antenna through the network, with signal processing fault tolerance capability

Architectural Design

Distributed, modular, open architecture, adopting industry standard communication network

Sharing standard hardware components to enhance reliability, reduce maintenance costs, and facilitate upgrade and expansion
