Task management: Supports up to 288 tasks (32 loop tasks+256 interrupt tasks), and supports individual task downloads/uploads (Ver. 2.0+).
Data processing: Provides text string processing, table data operations (MAX/MIN/SUM, etc.), double precision floating-point operations, data tracing functions, and supports binary/BCD format switching.
Unit version management
1. Version identification and confirmation
Identification location: The batch number is marked on the right side of the product nameplate (such as “Ver. 3.0”), and some models produced before November 4, 2003 do not have version identification (Pre Ver. 2.0).
Confirmation method: Query through the “PLC Information” or “Unit Manufacturing Information” of CX Programmer (4.0 and above), versions 3.3 and below are not supported.
2. Major version feature upgrades
CX Programmer version required for core new features in the unit version
Ver.4.1+1. Extended password protection (UM/task level); 2. Lock for 2 hours after 5 password errors; 3. Production batch number auxiliary area notification 9.6+
Ver. 4.0+1. Function block online editing; 2. The function block supports input and output variables; 3. Function block string support; 4. ST/SFC language is used for task programs 7.0+(7.2+supports more features)
Ver. 3.0+1. Function Block (FB) support (compliant with IEC 61131-3); 2. Serial gateway (FINS → CompoWay/F); 3. Annotation memory (built-in flash memory); 4. Added TXDU/RXDU and other commands 5.0+
Ver. 2.0+1. Download/upload individual tasks; 2. Password read protection (mission level); 3. Level 8 network communication; 4. No I/O table online network connection 4.0+
3. Version compatibility
Features supported by higher version units (such as online editing FB for Ver. 4.0) cannot run on lower version units (such as Ver. 3.0), and there will be errors when downloading the program.
The low version CX Programmer cannot recognize the new features of the high version unit and needs to match the corresponding version software (such as Ver.4.1 unit requiring CX Programmer 9.6+).

System configuration
1. Infrastructure
CPU rack: includes CPU unit, power unit, CPU backplane (2/3/5/8/10 slots), can install basic I/O units, special I/O units, CPU bus units, and supports memory card expansion.
Expansion rack: up to 7 can be connected, divided into CS series expansion rack, C200H expansion I/O rack, and long-distance expansion rack (single series 50m, dual series 100m).
Remote I/O slave rack: Connected through SYSMAC BUS, up to 8 slave racks, supporting basic I/O units and C200H special I/O units.
2. Unit types and connection restrictions
table
Unit Type Example Model Maximum Installation Quantity Can Install Rack
Basic I/O unit CS1W-ID211 (DC input) 80 units (80 slot limit) CPU rack, CS series expansion rack
89 special I/O units CS1W-MAD44 (analog I/O) (including C200H model) CPU rack, CS series expansion rack
CPU bus unit CS1W-ETN21 (Ethernet unit) 16 CPU racks, CS series expansion rack
Core functional characteristics
1. Programming and Debugging
Structured programming: supports task partitioning, symbol definition (global/local), function block reuse, and simplifies multi person parallel development and maintenance.
Online editing: Ver.4.0+supports online editing of functional blocks, Ver.2.0+supports online modification of multiple programs, reducing downtime.
Fault simulation: Simulate non fatal/fatal errors through FAL (006)/FALS (007) commands to assist in system debugging.
2. Communication function
Multi protocol support: Supports protocols such as Host Link, NT Link, Protocol Macro, etc., and can connect programming devices, touch screens, upper computers, and standard serial devices.
Cross network communication: Ver. 2.0+supports up to 8 levels of network communication (Controller Link/Ethernet), and supports remote programming and monitoring.
Port Expansion: Expand ports through serial communication boards/units, up to 36 serial ports, supporting macro allocation for different protocols.
3. Safety and Protection
Program Protection: Supports password protection (machine/task level), prohibits program backup, and FINS command write protection (allows writing to specified nodes).
Data protection: User programs and parameters are automatically backed up to flash memory (battery free operation), critical data (DM/EM/HR) is backed up through battery backup, and the A40204 flag is triggered in case of battery error.
Safe operation: Output the OFF bit (A50015) to turn off all outputs, and the IOM hold bit (A50012) to maintain the I/O memory state.
Installation and maintenance
1. Installation requirements
Environmental conditions: temperature 0-55 ℃, humidity 10% -90% (no condensation), no direct sunlight, corrosive gases, dust, vibration.
Grounding requirements: The grounding resistance should be ≤ 100 Ω, and the LG and GR terminals of the power unit should be separated (during voltage withstand testing).
Wiring specifications: Use crimping terminals, tighten screws with the required torque to avoid wire debris entering the unit, and separate strong and weak electrical circuits.
2. Maintenance points
Battery replacement: CS1W-BAT01 battery is standard and needs to be checked regularly. If the battery is incorrect, it should be replaced in a timely manner.
Power supply unit: C200HW-PA204C and other models support replacement notification function, and an alarm will be triggered when the remaining 6-month lifespan is reached.
Troubleshooting: The error log stores up to 20 errors (including code and time), and locates I/O configuration issues through the I/O table error flag (A261).
Safety regulations
Warning level: The document adopts a three-level warning (DANGER/WARNING/Caution), specifying requirements for power-off operation, electric shock prevention, short circuit prevention, etc.
External safety circuit: Emergency stop, interlock, and limit circuits must be configured externally to deal with faults that cannot be detected by PLC self diagnosis.
Network security: Install antivirus software, firewall, restrict network access, use VPN remote connection, and regularly backup data.
