Bonfiglioli Active 401/201 frequency converter

Product Overview and Version Differences

ACT201 series: Input 200-240V (single-phase/three-phase), power 0.55-3.0 kW; Size1 (0.55-1.1 kW), Size2 (1.5-3.0 kW).

ACT401 series: Input 360-480V three-phase, power 0.55-65 kW; Size2-Size6, with Size6 covering 37-65 kW.

Improvement points compared to the old version

Added Size6, with a maximum power limit of 65 kW;

The overall size is more compact;

All models have a switching frequency of 8 kHz, without the need for derating, resulting in lower motor operating noise and higher control accuracy;

Perfectly matched with the power specifications of Bangfeili motor.

Backward compatibility: The casing, electrical wiring, accessories, configuration software are fully compatible with the old 400/200, making it easy to replace and upgrade.

Optional motor control modes: sensorless control, sensorless vector control, and vector feedback control with speed sensor.

Basic hardware and electrical specifications

1. General basic configuration

Grid adaptation: supports TN and IT power supply systems;

Overload capacity: 150% overload for 60 seconds, 200% overload for 1 second;

Switching frequency: 2-16 kHz (Size6: 2-8 kHz); Motor output frequency 0-1000 Hz;

Built in braking transistor, supporting external braking resistor; DC bus connection;

Short circuit/ground fault protection; Protection level IP20, vertical installation;

Working environment: 0-40 ℃; Humidity 15-85% without condensation; The highest altitude is 4000 meters, and high temperature and altitude require output derating;

There are two cooling schemes: standard air cooling A and cold plate heat dissipation C.

Reduction rules:

> 40 ℃: For every 1K increase, the rating decreases by 2.5%; The maximum ambient temperature is 55 ℃;

Altitude greater than 1000 meters: 5% reduction for every 1000 meters.

2. Naming rules

The model code includes: series, power specifications, cooling method (A/C), and whether there is a built-in EMI filter (F); Accessory code differentiation: Human machine unit KP500, communication module CMxxx, expansion module EMxxx, mechanical installation kit MPSV/MDIN/MNVIB.

Modular extension system (plug and play)

The module is divided into three slots, A/B/C, and automatically recognizes when powered on; CM-CAN and EM-SYS cannot be installed simultaneously.

1. User interface module

KP500 operation panel

Detachable, with parameter copying function, can copy parameters to another frequency converter;

Local start stop, parameter modification, and viewing of operational electrical status; Non essential accessories;

Can be paired with KPCMK kit to achieve remote installation of cabinet doors (3-meter cable).

KP232 (RS232): Used for PC debugging, with a maximum baud rate of 115.2 kbit/s, the only hardware that supports VPlus software oscilloscope function.

2. Communication module CM series

CM‑232:RS232, Maximum 19.2 kbit/s, does not support oscilloscopes;

CM‑485:RS485;

CM-CAN: CANopen fieldbus;

CM‑PDP:Profibus‑DP。

3. I/O and Sensing Expansion Module EM Series

EM-IO-01: Digital input, relay output, ± 10V analog input/output, Systembus system bus.

EM-IO-02: Add PTC motor temperature detection input.

EM-IO-03: An additional 0-20 mA analog output is added.

EM-ENC-xx: Incremental encoder interface (Line Driver), supports 5V/24V encoder, zero position Z signal, and some models come with analog I/O and PTC.

EM-RES-xx: Rotary Transformer Resolver interface, used for motors with rotary transformer feedback.

EM-SYS: Systembus system bus, based on CANopen, with up to 64 frequency converters networked; Provide SDO parameter channel and PDO high-speed process data channel, supporting master-slave synchronization and electronic gears.

PC debugging software VPlus

Operating environment: Windows; Connect the frequency converter through KP232/CM-232/CM-485.

Core competencies: parameter setting, uploading and downloading parameter sets, operation monitoring, remote diagnosis, built-in virtual oscilloscope.

Oscilloscope function: 4 waveform channels, capable of collecting voltage, current, and internal control variables; Support triggering, cursor measurement, and record waveforms for up to 60 minutes; KP232 hardware is required to enable the oscilloscope.

Built in standard firmware features

Brake (parking brake) control: Crane type drive, configurable timing control mechanical brake, motor side circuit breaker, compensates for mechanical action delay, adapts to suspended loads.

Motor chopper braking: high inertia flywheel load, no external braking unit is required to achieve braking.

Positioning function: Based on external proximity switches for zero positioning, supports setting the target position, and can configure the action logic after it is in place.

Timer function: 2 programmable timers with a timing range of 10 ms to 650 hours, which can be bound to digital IO and internal events.

Systembus Master Slave Synchronous/Electronic Gear

Multi unit network, with the main engine issuing rotational speed; Follow from the machine;

Support online modification of electronic gear ratio and phase offset;

Can monitor the current deviation between master and slave, and output an alarm when the threshold is exceeded; Suitable for conveyor belts and multi axis synchronous production lines.

Mechanical installation kit

Multiple installation methods, different power sizes correspond to different kits:

MPSV: through installation;

MNVIB: Anti vibration installation;

MDIN: DIN rail installation.

External supporting accessories

Line choke: Suppresses grid harmonics. The manual provides the matching reactor model, inductance, power consumption, size, and weight for each power model.

EMI filters: ACT201-05-15 and ACT401-05-15 come standard with built-in EMI filters that meet EN 61800-3 standards; High power models require external filters; Bottom tribe installation can save cabinet space.

DV/dt output filter, sine wave filter: suitable for scenarios with long motor cables.

PFC power feedback unit: processes regenerated energy and feeds it back to the grid.

External braking resistor: All models are equipped with a built-in braking chopper, which can consume braking energy through an external resistor.
