Product positioning and measurement principles

1. Product positioning

The GB series (GB-J/GB-K/GB-S/GB-N) is a compact rod type analog displacement sensor designed by MTS specifically for hydraulic cylinders, valve groups, and narrow spaces. It is non-contact, wear-resistant, maintenance free, and suitable for high-pressure and high-temperature industrial environments.

2. Measurement principle

Using Temposonics ®  Magnetostriction technology:

The current pulse generates a magnetic field in the waveguide wire, which interacts with the magnetic field of the position magnet to generate a torque pulse

Pulses propagate at a fixed speed and are converted to absolute position based on flight time

Advantages: non-contact, no wear, absolute measurement, high precision, high durability

Pursuing the highest pressure resistance, choose GB-J (800bar);

Pursuing strong anti-corrosion, choose GB-N (316L all stainless steel);

GB-S/K (350bar, Ø 10mm thin rod) is selected as the universal high-pressure compact type.
