REER ULISSE UNC safety photoelectric protection device

Product Overview

ULISSE UNC is a separate type of radiation safety photoelectric produced by REER, consisting of an UNCE transmitter and an UNCR receiver. It only forms a TYPE 2 safety protection system that complies with IEC 61496-1/2 when paired with an AU S3/AU S3M2/AU S-TWIN control unit. It is used for full body intrusion detection and cannot be used for hand/arm protection.

Applicable equipment: weaving machines, assembly lines, automated warehousing, robot areas, palletizing systems. Prohibited scenarios: Equipment without supporting control units, risk of object falling/spraying, and inability to shut down electrically.

Status indicator light

Transmitting end (UNCE): Yellow light is always on=beam is normal; Extinguish=Test/No emission

Receiver (UNCR): The green light is always on, indicating that the protected area is unobstructed; Extinguish=beam obstructed

Safe distance and installation positioning

Formula for safe distance

S = 1600×(tb+tu+t1) + C

Single beam: C=1200, beam height 750mm

Dual beam: C=850, beam heights of 400mm and 900mm

Installation requirements

The transmission and reception are strictly aligned, with a distance of ≤ 6m

Stay away from strong light sources and reflective surfaces to avoid accidental triggering

Multiple systems should be placed side by side/stacked to prevent mutual interference, and the transmission should not be directed towards other receivers

Electrical connection

Interface: M8 3-pin connector, supporting up to 50m cable (≥ 1mm ²)

Power supply: PELV 24Vdc isolated power supply must be used

Key points of wiring

Pin 3 is connected to the metal casing and requires grounding or insulation treatment

Separate the power line from the power line, and ground the control unit

Test button insulation ≥ 230Vac

Support connection methods

Single/Dual Beam: AU S3/AU S3M2

Up to four beams: AU S-TWIN

Mechanical installation and calibration

Installation method: fixed bracket, with the transmitter and receiver facing each other

Calibration: Based on the stable and constant green light on the receiving end

Environment: Anti condensation, dust-proof, and high-temperature resistant

Inspection and maintenance

Daily inspection: Use 8mm opaque objects to cover the center and edges of the light beam in each shift, confirm that the receiving green light is off and the control unit is activated

Maintenance: Regularly clean the lens and prohibit the use of abrasives, solvents, and alcohol

Troubleshooting: Check wiring, alignment status, lens cleaning, and power supply voltage

Labels and ordering

Serial number: including production year/week/serial number

ordering code

Transmission+reception: 1200302

Launch UNCE: 1400302

Receive UNCR: 1500302

Key questions and answers

Question 1: Under what conditions can ULISSE UNC be used as a security device? What are the core limitations?

Answer: It must be paired with AU S3, AU S3M2, or AU S-TWIN control units to form the TYPE 2 safety system; It is strictly prohibited to use it as a personal safety protection device without a control unit. At the same time, it is only used for whole body intrusion detection and cannot be used for hand/arm protection, and the equipment must be able to immediately shut down electrically.

Question 2: What are the safe distance calculation and beam height for single beam and double beam?

answer:

Single beam: S=1600 × (total response time+machine shutdown time)+1200, beam height 750mm

Double beam: S=1600 × (total response time+machine shutdown time)+850, beam height 400mm, 900mm

Question 3: What are the daily inspection and maintenance requirements for ULISSE UNC? Which points should be prioritized for troubleshooting?

answer:

Inspection: Use 8mm opaque objects to cover the entire area of the light beam for each shift, and verify the function of turning off the receiving green light and stopping the machine

Maintenance: Regularly clean the lens and prohibit corrosive solvents

Troubleshooting: ① Wiring and power supply ② Alignment of transmission and reception ③ Lens contamination ④ Reflected light interference ⑤ Control unit status
