Basler BE2000E Digital Excitation Voltage Regulator

Product basic positioning

BE2000E is an industrial grade digital AVR from Basler, designed specifically for brushless synchronous generators with single-phase PMG permanent magnet generators. It serves as a core replacement for Marathon’s old DVR2000E/DVR2000E voltage regulating devices and has strong environmental tolerance. It is suitable for diesel/gas small synchronous generator sets and supports parallel operation of single and multiple generators.

Core Four Control Modes

The whole machine supports four switchable operating modes, meeting the needs of single machine and grid connected parallel scenarios:

AVR automatic voltage regulation (main mode): stabilizes the output voltage of the generator, supports 1/3 phase voltage sampling, has soft start, V/Hz low-frequency compensation, and overexcitation limitation;

FCR manual excitation current regulation: directly control the rotor excitation current, with a slope adjustable in 0.01 steps;

Var constant regulation: constant reactive power output, regulation range -100%~+100, step size 0.1%;

Power factor PF constant adjustment: constant power factor, adjustment range of 0.6 lead to 0.6 lag, accuracy of 0.001.

All built-in functional features

1. Regulation and grid connection function

Customizable stable gain, optimized voltage dynamic response, and suppressed oscillation;

AVR mode soft start, time continuously adjustable from 1 to 120 seconds;

V/Hz low-frequency load shedding compensation (40-65Hz, 0.01Hz step);

Two types of parallel compensation: reactive power adjustment and cross current differential compensation, to achieve equal distribution of reactive power among multiple units;

Analog auxiliary input (-3~+3Vdc), capable of remote offset voltage setting point ± 30%.

2. Protection system (6 layers of protection)

Overexcitation limit OEL (effective in AVR/Var/PF mode)+Overexcitation shutdown protection (0~7.5Adc, delay 0~10s);

Excitation overvoltage protection: 0~250Vdc pickup, fixed 15s delayed tripping;

Generator overvoltage shutdown: 105%~120% rated, fixed 0.75s delay;

Overheating shutdown protection;

PT voltage sampling loss shutdown;

Crossover Crowbar circuit: absorbs rotor fault overvoltage and protects excitation winding.

3. IO and human-machine communication

4-channel passive dry contact input: unit increase/decrease magnetization, Var/PF mode enable, single machine/parallel control;

1-channel A-type public alarm relay: 7A long-term current carrying, 30A short-term 0.2s connection, used for alarm/trip output;

Front panel HMI: status indicator lights, local adjustment knobs for voltage/gain/offset/underfrequency, etc;

Rear DB9 RS232 serial port: equipped with dedicated BESTCOMS-BE2000E upper software to complete parameter tuning and monitoring.

4. Collection and monitoring capability

Single phase CT current sampling (5A secondary);

Real time acquisition of excitation voltage and excitation current;

Full power metering: terminal voltage, current, frequency, active/reactive/apparent power, power factor, phase angle, with a maximum measurement accuracy of 0.5%.

Complete electrical specification parameters

1. PMG working power supply (controller power supply)

Input 180-240Vac, frequency 200-360Hz, power consumption 350VA; requires a 7.5 μ F 370Vac capacitor to be connected across the PMG terminal.

2. Terminal voltage sampling (E1/E2/E3)

1/3 compatible, 4-speed range: 120/240/480/600Vac, each phase load<1VA, universal for 50/60Hz.

3. Current sampling CT1/CT2

Single phase 5A continuous rated, with a load of less than 0.1VA.

4. Excitation output F+/F-

Short time 10s strong excitation under 200Vac power supply: 150Vdc, 7.5Adc; The minimum excitation resistance is 18 Ω.

5. Communication RS232

Full duplex, baud rate 4800, 8 data bits, no checksum, 1 stop bit.

6. Environment and Machinery

Working temperature: -40 ℃~+70 ℃; Storage -40~+85 ℃;

Vibration, impact, and salt spray comply with MIL-STD-810E military standards;

The total weight of the machine is 690g, and installation dimension drawings are provided.

Accuracy index (under conditions of 25 ℃ and THD<20%)

Voltage steady-state accuracy: rated power factor, load variation at constant frequency is only ± 0.25%;

Temperature drift: temperature difference of only ± 0.5% at 40 ℃;

Response speed: less than 1 cycle;

Frequency measurement ± 0.2Hz; excitation current ± 0.5%; Active/reactive power ± 3%; Phase angle error of 2 °.

Front panel: Multi state LED (overexcitation, overheating, loss of sampling, overvoltage, mode status); Voltage coarse/fine adjustment, gain, stability, deviation adjustment, under frequency Var/PF、 Manual excitation and other physical knobs;

Terminal definition: PMG power supply, three-phase voltage, CT current, increase/decrease magnetic dry contacts, Var enable, parallel control, alarm output, analog remote input, excitation F+/F -;
