-North Bridge: Intel 440MX; South Bridge supporting Winbond W83977EF Super IO; PCI bridge TI PCI2050, supports 7 PCI master devices;

-BIOS: Award PnP 2Mb SPI flash memory, supports DMI, remote serial console, PCIe network boot, BIOS write protection, and antivirus.

2. Memory and Storage

-Memory: Single 144 pin SO-DIMM slot, maximum 256MB PC10 3.3V unbuffered SDRAM;

-Storage solution:

1. Onboard IDE channel, supporting 2.5-inch ultra-thin IDE hard drives (only 8HP dual slot version with mounting bracket);

2. Expand the CompactFlash Type II memory card with sub cards (8MB~512MB);

3. External floppy drive (34 pin pin).

3. Bus standards

-Appearance: Standard 3U CompactPCI (100mm × 160mm), compliant with PICMG2.0 R3.0 and PICMG2.1 R2.0 hot swappable specifications;

-CPCI backplane interface J1 (PCI bus), J2 (rear IO expansion);

-Native hot swappable power ramp circuit, with gentle and no impact on the upper level, and automatic machine reset under low voltage.

Complete division of IO interfaces (front panel+rear RTM)

1. Network (Intel 82559 Dual 10/100M)

-LAN1: Only front panel RJ45;

-LAN2: RJ45 before/after dialing switch, only one end can be used at the same time;

-Ethernet port LED: Amber=100M, green constant light link, flashing data transmission; Supports WOL and PXE remote boot.

2. Serial port (dual 16C550 UART)

-COM2: Front panel RJ45 interface, fixed RS232;

-COM1: Only RTM rear DB9, RTM jumper switch RS232/422/485/automatic 485+;

-The highest baud rate is 115200, with a complete modem handshake signal.

3. Universal peripheral IO

1. USB1.1: Front panel USB-A, rear RTM USB-B, single port 500mA overcurrent protection;

2. PS/2 keyboard and mouse: front panel circular DIN, matched with Y line for simultaneous connection of keyboard and mouse;

3. Parallel LPT: Rear J2/RTM output, supports SPP/EPP/ECP;

4. Optional audio: external DB-AC97 motherboard;

5. The 8HP version additionally introduces DB9 general-purpose GPIO (4-channel digital IO).

4. RTM cPCI-R3720 Exclusive Expansion

4HP rear adapter board, leading out COM1, second network port USB、PS/2、 Parallel port, with built-in floppy drive plug; **Key limitation: The same function cannot be connected to both front and rear IO at the same time, as it may burn hardware and lose warranty.

System management hardware functions

1. Watchdog Timer WDT

-Timing gear: Dual mode of 1-255 seconds/1-255 minutes;

-Trigger mechanism: The software feeds the dog, and the keyboard and mouse move to automatically reload the timer; Optional NMI interrupt or hardware reset for timeout;

-Provide assembly low-level configuration code, with DOS/Windows support for directly calling function libraries.

2. Hardware monitoring (W83L784R chip)

Real time collection of CPU temperature, overall temperature, 3.3V/5V/12V voltage, and CPU fan speed; Equipped with Hardware Doctor Windows visual monitoring tool, with a pop-up alarm for exceeding the threshold.

3. PXE network boot

Dual network cards support PCIe diskless remote boot, paired with DHCP/TFTP servers for remote system installation, and BIOS internal switch control.

4. CPCI hot plugging

Compliant with PICMG2.1 specifications, the chassis lever triggers the power supply shutdown process; The card can only be unplugged after the blue HS light is ready; BIOS can disable hot swapping to release interrupt resources.

Environment, power consumption, and mechanical indicators

1. Temperature shock: working at 0-55 ℃; Storage -20~80 ℃; Running vibration 0.5Grms (with hard drive), no running 1.88Grms; Impact 15G;

2. Power consumption (PIII700 full load machine): about 21.27W at full load, only 8.46W at light load;

3. Safety regulations: CE, FCC Class B;

4. Size: 3U Eurocard, with two board widths of 4HP/8HP.

Key points of hardware assembly chapter

1. CPU/heatsink: Pre soldered BGA at the factory, prohibited from disassembly on site, damaged and ineffective;

2. Memory: SO-DIMM unidirectional buckle installation, controlling the height to avoid card compression;

3. 2.5-inch hard drive: only compatible with 8HP models, limited to 9.5mm ultra-thin disks, equipped with dedicated copper pillars and 44 pin IDE ribbon cables;

4. CF cards, floppy drives, and RTM all have dedicated installation steps, and mixing and matching adapter boards are prohibited.

Driver installation instructions

Supporting operating systems

Win95/98/NT4.0/2000, VxWorks embedded system, with accompanying driver CD containing:

1. Intel 440MX chipset driver;

2. Intel 82559 network card driver (Win98/2000/NT/Netware/Linux multi platform step-by-step tutorial);

3. WDT watchdog function library;

4. Hardware monitoring tool.

The NT system needs to first create a driver floppy disk before completing the installation of network components.
