Product positioning and applicable scenarios

The OmniSwitch 6450 is a fixed configuration stackable switch with 10 Gigabit uplink and 10 Gigabit stacking capabilities, supporting upgrades to metropolitan Ethernet services. The hardware design takes into account flexibility, scalability, and low power consumption, running a mature AOS operating system to achieve high availability, secure protection, easy management, and green energy-saving networks. Applicable deployment scenarios:

Enterprise branch offices and park working groups

Residential and commercial custody services

Product model family

The entire machine is a 1U chassis, divided into four major subcategories:

L series: 100Mbps electrical port models (OS6450-24L/P24L/48L/P48L), default 100Mbps ports, can be upgraded to gigabit speed through authorization; P represents the PoE version.

Ordinary/X/M series: 24 port, 48 port gigabit electrical port models.

X model: SFP+port factory default 10G;

M model: By default, enable metropolitan Ethernet services;

The default SFP+for non-X models is gigabit and requires an OS6450 SW PERF license to enable 10G.

U-fiber series (OS6450-U24 series): 22 SFP optical ports+2 optoelectronic multiplexing combo ports;

S model: Supports IEEE1588v2 PTP precise time protocol (end-to-end transparent clock, only available in non stack mode);

SXM model: Supports both 1588v2 and default enabled metropolitan Ethernet functionality.

Expansion module: Expansion slots are provided at the rear of the chassis, with optional 10G stacking modules, 10G uplink modules, Gigabit SFP, and Gigabit RJ45 expansion cards.

Stacking ability: Up to 8 devices can be stacked in a single group; Maximum stacking ports for the whole machine: 384 FE/GE, 16 10G ports.

PoE capability

The PoE model is compatible with IEEE 802.3af and 802.3at (PoE+) standards and can provide power to IP phones, wireless APs, and surveillance cameras. Supports dynamic PoE power allocation, providing only the actual required power to the powered device, and can configure the priority and maximum power of each port. The budget for 24 port PoE machine is 390W; the budget for 48 port PoE machine is 780W.

Non PoE models: support built-in AC/DC backup power supply, with a machine height of 1U;

PoE model: The backup power supply is external, and the whole machine occupies 2U rack space.

Airgroup service supports unified experience across wired and wireless Bonjour devices.
