Mandatory verification requirements for tightening process
After any event that can affect the tightening process occurs, the torque and rotation direction must be verified:
Trigger scenario: Initial installation of the system; Parts/bolts/tools/software/configuration/environmental changes; Electrical connection modification; Changes in production line technology, quality processes, operators, and other factors that affect the tightening results.
Verification execution timing: Verification must be carried out after initial installation, maintenance, and repair; Perform verification at least once per shift; Confirm that the joint conditions of the threaded pair have not changed.
GDPR reminder: Devices can store personal information such as usernames, roles, IPs, etc; If this function is used, the user is obliged to comply with the EU GDPR data protection regulations, and Atlas Copco is not responsible for the user’s personal information use.

Compliance Certification Instructions
EU CE: compliant with EMC and low voltage directives; Implement standards EN 61000-6-2, EN 61000-6-3, and EN 61010-1.
WEEE Directive (2012/19/EU): Forked trash cans are marked and cannot be used as ordinary household waste. The entire machine or related components should be sent to customer service centers for recycling.
North American certification: UL, CSA/IEC safety certification; FCC Class A (Industrial Class A equipment that generates radio interference in household environments).
REACH regulation: Some components of the equipment contain lead and are included in the REACH candidate list; Normal use will not precipitate, in compliance with RoHS exemption clauses; Comply with local regulations on the disposal of lead containing waste when scrapping.
California P65 warning: Products contain lead, and California has determined that lead poses a risk of cancer and reproductive damage.
General Usage Rules
Industrial indoor use only, strictly prohibited in explosive hazardous environments; Unauthorized modification of equipment and accessories is prohibited; The shell must be replaced immediately if it is damaged or the warning label is loose or blurry.
Only trained and qualified personnel are allowed to complete installation, operation, and maintenance.
Usage limitation: Only used for monitoring and controlling tightening tools, prohibited for other purposes; EMC electromagnetic compatibility is only suitable for industrial scenarios.
System Integration Description: The PF4000 controller hardware meets IEC/EN 61010-01 and can be used to build a complete system that complies with IEC/EN 60204-1; The responsibility for whether the entire system is compliant lies with the system integrator.
Key safety warning
1. Electrical safety
There is a live circuit inside the device. Before opening the cover, the power must be cut off and the power cord must be unplugged.
The equipment must be reliably grounded; It is prohibited to remove grounding pins and use adapter sockets; Suspected abnormal grounding of the socket, requires confirmation from an electrician.
Only original factory matching power cords and tool cables can be used; Cable modification is prohibited; Replace the damaged cable immediately.
The equipment should not be exposed to rain or moisture; Stay away from strong electrical noise sources such as arc welding.
Simultaneous operation with welding machine: The workpiece must be independently grounded, and the cross-sectional area of the grounding conductor must be at least equal to the welding machine’s return cable to prevent welding return current from entering the controller’s grounding circuit.
2. Remote startup risk
The remote start function may cause the tool to start unexpectedly; Emergency stop EM Stop devices must be installed at appropriate locations on the production line, and the controller emergency stop interface must be configured according to the manual.
3. Risk of tightening program changes
After modifying/adding a tightening program, all parameters of the program must be reviewed; Program modifications can cause unexpected torque, steering, and speed, resulting in personal injury and equipment damage.
4. Front end tool attachments
Even if the controller is compatible with multiple front-end attachments, the system user’s responsibility is to confirm that the controller parameters match the attached attachments.
Maintain and upkeep safety
Cleaning: Use only a damp cloth and clean water to wipe; Solvent based cleaning agents are strictly prohibited.
All maintenance work must be disconnected from the power supply and handed over to qualified personnel.
ESD electrostatic protection mandatory requirements: controllers and internal components of tools are highly sensitive to static electricity; Disassembly and maintenance must use an anti-static workbench (anti-static floor mat+anti-static wrist strap), and a schematic diagram is attached to the electrostatic protection workstation manual; Not meeting the environment can cause random failures.
