R&S®EPL1000 EMI TEST RECEIVER

Product Overview

R&S ® EPL1000 is an EMI testing receiver designed for the frequency range of 5kHz-30MHz. Its core is used for conducting and radiating interference measurements, meeting the CISPR 16-1-1 standard. It is also compatible with military/navigation marks such as MIL-STD-461 and DO-160, and integrates EMI testing, spectrum analysis, signal source/tracking source. It is suitable for laboratory, on-site, and outdoor use.

Core measurement performance

1. Frequency and basic indicators

Frequency range: 5kHz-30MHz

Input: 50 Ω N-type, built-in pulse limiter

Attenuation: 0-55dB, 1dB step

Pre amplifier: 20dB adjustable

2. Bandwidth and detector

Category key parameters

EMI 6dB bandwidth 200Hz, 9kHz, 120kHz, 1MHz (CISPR); 10Hz/100Hz/1kHz/10kHz/100kHz (military standard)

Minimum peak value of standard detector RMS、 average

CISPR detector peak, quasi peak, CISPR average, RMS average

3. Core advantages of time-domain scanning (TDS)

Single measurement covering CISPR A/B full frequency band

CISPR B peak measurement for a single line only takes 3 seconds

Support uninterrupted measurement for up to 100 seconds to capture intermittent disturbances

Can activate 3 trajectories simultaneously using different detectors

Automated measurement capability

Scan table: Custom multi band, independent RBW settings, automatic sequential measurement

LISN remote control: one click automatic measurement of all LISN lines

Preview+Final Test: Peak value search first, standard final test only for key points, significantly speeding up

Limit judgment: Built in 170+standard limit library, automatically provides PASS/FAIL

Report generation: Supports PDF/Word, custom templates, one click export

Advanced analysis function

Click rate analysis (K59)

Complies with CISPR 14-1 6th/7th edition

4-channel synchronous gapless measurement, testing for up to 4 hours

Automatic evaluation, visualization, and report output

Real time spectrogram (K55E)

No gap time-frequency recording, circular cache stores 100000 lines of data

2D/3D display, marking measurement, locating transient disturbances

IF analysis (K56)

Maximum span of 10MHz, resolution bandwidth of 10Hz-100kHz

auxiliary analysis

Bar chart: Real time voltage level of single frequency point multi detector

Key issues

Question 1: R&S ® What are the core advantages of time-domain scanning (TDS) of EPL1000 compared to traditional scanning?

Answer: The core advantage is extremely fast speed, which can complete CISPR A/B full frequency scanning in a single measurement, CISPR B quasi peak single line only takes 3 seconds; supports up to 100 seconds of seamless measurement, can reliably capture intermittent/transient disturbances, and can simultaneously enable multi detector parallel measurement without the need for multiple tests.

Question 2: What power supply methods does EPL1000 support and what usage scenarios do they correspond to?

Answer: Supports three types of power supply: ① AC 100-240V: laboratory fixed use; ② DC 12-24V: In vehicle/on-site scenarios without mains power supply; ③ Built in lithium battery: outdoor/no power in-situ test, nominal endurance of 2 hours, battery replaceable to extend usage time.

Question 3: What are the key processes that EPL1000’s automated measurement can achieve and how can testing efficiency be improved?

Answer: It can achieve multi band automatic scanning, LISN multi-channel automatic switching, preview peak search final testing fully automatic, limit value automatic comparison and judgment PASS/FAIL, and report automatic generation and export; No manual intervention is required, and the testing process can be replicated. For example, the entire process of testing EN 55015 lighting fixtures only takes about 13 seconds, significantly reducing labor and time costs.
