Operation and Reset

Closing: Turn the handle clockwise to I (ON)

Opening: Turn the handle counterclockwise to O (OFF)

Fault reset: Power off troubleshooting → Handle counterclockwise to O → Close again

Test: Push to trip test for disengagement, only for professional personnel operation

Security locking and isolation

Padlock: O-position standard, up to 3 pieces, lock diameter 5-8mm; ON position locking requires modification of handle

Door Interlock (MCC): Lock the door in ON/trip position, unable to close the door, disabled requires professional modification

Isolation capability: The O position meets the IEC isolation requirements and can safely perform power-off operations

Core protection function

Overload/Thermal Protection (ANSI 49)

The setting current Ir is adjustable, with a default of 0.4 × In

Release time: Under 7.2 × Ir, 4-5 seconds for level 5, 8-10 seconds for level 10, and 16-20 seconds for level 20

Hot memory, memory duration of 20 minutes

Short term protection (ANSI 51)

Set Isd=5-13 × Ir, with a fixed delay of 0.1s

Instantaneous protection (ANSI 50)

Set Ii=15-17 × In, maximum breaking time * * ≤ 30ms**

Phase failure/unbalance protection (ANSI 46)

Imbalance threshold of 30%, startup trip of 0.7s, steady-state trip of 4s

Reflection trip: driven by a large short-circuit current, the mechanical piston trips at high speed

Electrical accessories

Status contacts: OF (position), SD (trip), SDE (electrical fault trip)

Voltage trip: MN/UVR undervoltage trip, MX/SHT shunt trip

Thermal fault module: SDTAM, overload warning, contactor control, supports 1-15 minute automatic reset

Environmental adaptability

Working temperature: -25 ℃~+70 ℃; Storage: -50 ℃~+85 ℃

Altitude: ≤ 2000m without capacity reduction, higher altitudes require capacity reduction

Pollution level: Level 3, suitable for harsh industrial environments

Seismic resistance: Complies with DNVGL classification society vibration standards

Current limiting and application advantages

Ics=100%Icu, Limit breaking is consistent with usage breaking

Double breakpoint rotating structure, strong current limiting, reduces short-circuit thermal stress and electrodynamic force

Support cascading cooperation to reduce downstream equipment costs

Suitable for direct start and star delta start, meeting the requirements of Class 1/Class 2 cooperation

Key questions and answers

Question: What are the core specifications differences between GV5 and GV6?

Answer: GV5 is frame 5, with a current of 150-220A; GV6 is frame 6, with a current of 320-500A; the installation slots for the two accessories are different, and the breaking capacity is the same in the low-voltage section, with 10kA in the 690Vac section.

Question: What are the triggering conditions and delay parameters for the equipment’s phase failure protection?

Answer: Triggered when the three-phase current imbalance exceeds 30%; The startup phase is delayed by 0.7 seconds to trip, the steady-state operation is delayed by 4 seconds to trip, and the phase failure is extremely unbalanced, triggered according to the same rules.

Question: What are the functions and installation limitations of the SDTAM thermal fault module?

Answer: The function is overload warning and early disconnection of the contactor to prevent the main circuit breaker from tripping, supporting automatic reset within 1-15 minutes; Installation is limited to sharing slots with MN/UVR and MX/SHT, and cannot be installed simultaneously.
