Aerotech Ndrive Linear (HLe/ML) Linear Servo Drive

Overall product basic characteristics

Power architecture: Pure linear amplifier, no PWM switching noise, excellent speed stability and linearity; The minimum load inductance can reach 0   mH, perfectly suitable for voice coil motors.

DSP control core: Double precision floating-point processor; Current loop closed-loop update at 20 kHz, servo loop up to 8 kHz; Supports up to 8 second-order loop shaping filters and high-precision feedforward algorithms to achieve extremely smooth motion curves.

Compatible motor types: brushless servo motor, brushed DC servo motor, stepper motor, voice coil motor.

Feedback support

TTL square wave encoder; Simulate sine cosine encoder (MXU/MXH options);

HLe exclusive: Rotary Transformer Resolver, Inductosyn Induction Synchronizer;

Absolute encoders: BiSS, EnDat2.1/EnDat2.2;

MXH option: Maximum x 65536 interpolation, capable of outputting interpolated orthogonal encoder signals; MXU interpolation magnification is low, unable to output harmonic signals.

PSO position synchronization output (hardware laser triggered)

HLe: Standard single axis PSO, optional dual axis DUAL-PSO, three-axis TRIPLE-PSO;

ML: Only supports single axis PSO; ⚠️ The PSO function is not available when using the MXU encoder interpolation option in ML;

High speed data capture with a delay of 50 ns.

Scalability

HLe supports ENET Ethernet options for large-scale IO expansion of third-party PLCs; Ethernet cannot be used as a motion control bus;

Both models support IO expansion boards, which can expand digital/analog IO and brake control;

Networking features: HLe and ML can be mixed with Ndrive’s full range (HP, CP, CL) PWM/linear drives and hung on the same FireWire network, allowing the system to be freely configured as needed.

Environmental conditions: working temperature range of 0-50 ℃; Storage -30~85 ℃.

Comparison of parameters between two sub models

Ndrive HLe (high-performance linear, AC powered)

Sub models: HLe10-40, HLe20-40, HLe10-60, HLe10-80

Power supply: The motor is powered by two-phase/three-phase AC mains input; Control power supply 85-240 VAC (Keep Alive to maintain power, emergency stop to cut off motor power, maintain logic and feedback).

Bus voltage: ± 40 VDC/± 60 VDC/± 80 VDC.

Current: Peak 10-20   Apk; Continuous 5-10 Apk (AC motor effective value=peak value × 0.707).

Onboard standard IO: 6-way optocoupler DI (including 2 high-speed differential inputs); 4-channel DO; 1-channel 16 bit differential analog input, 1-channel 16 bit single ended analog output.

Feedback connector comes with built-in resources: CW/CCW/Home limit; Hall A/B/C; Motor overheating thermistor input; All signals from the main encoder.

Option – IO Expansion Board: Added 16 isolated DI/16 isolated DO; 3-channel 16 bit differential analog input; 3-channel 16 bit analog output.

Unique ability: Dual axis/three-axis PSO; Resolver (single/dual channel 16 bit); Ethernet third-party IO expansion; Can output orthogonal signals from a frequency doubling encoder.

Mechanical: Weight 10.36 kg; Dimensions: Width 206.9 mm x Height 234.3 mm; M5 screw installation; Provide three types of exterior drawings: standard version, with IO board, and with IO+rotary transformer option.

Note: HLe does not have a built-in discharge resistor.

Ndrive ML (compact small linear, pure DC power supply)

Sub model: ML10-40

Power supply: all DC power supply; Motor busbar maximum ± 40 VDC; Control power supply 18-36 VDC DC Keep Alive power supply.

Current: Peak 10 Apk, continuous 5 Apk.

Onboard IO: The main body has no onboard digital DI/DO, only one 16 bit differential analog input; Digital IO must be equipped with an IO expansion board.

IO expansion board: 8 isolated DI/8 isolated DO; 1 analog input; 1 analog output; Provide an auxiliary encoder channel to enable PSO.

Feedback: Supports TTL and analog sine and cosine encoders; MXH up to x 65536 (capable of outputting multiple frequency orthogonal), MXU up to x 4096; Does not support rotary transformers, does not support Ethernet.

PSO restriction: only single axis PSO; PSO is not available when the MXU option is turned on.

Mechanical: weighs only 1.0   kg; dimensions are 92.1   mm wide by 141.0   mm high; installed with M3.5 small screws; Whether the external dimensions of the IO board are completely consistent.

Note: ML does not have built-in/external discharge resistor interfaces.

Summary of Key Options

Option HLe ML Description
